Case presentation:A 57-year-old man from Tanzania presented with a 2-months history of multiple papules and subcutaneous nodules arising on the face, trunk and extremities (Figs 1a – c), accompanied by a diffuse, scaly rash. The patient’s HIV status was not known. A complete blood count showed a differential analysis with 47.8 percent neutrophils, 29.9 percent lymphocytes, 9.8 percent monocytes, and 11.4 percent eosinophils. A biopsy was taken from the lesions on the face.
